Steve Bell

Steve has over 40 years’ experience in Environmental Health and is a Fellow of the New Zealand Institute of Environmental Health. In addition to his Post Graduate Diploma in Science, he holds a New Zealand Certificate in Building and is a qualified Tertiary Teacher.

During his extensive career he has been a regulator; academic; policy developer and implementer, both in New Zealand and the UK.

Steve’s experience includes:

  • Education and Training – needs analysis, curriculum design, development and delivery.
  • Food Safety – knowledge of food safety programmes; training; legislative and policy development and implementation
  • Civil Defence and Emergency Management – Undertaken and delivered emergency management training and has extensive practical experience in a number of national and regional emergencies
  • Communicable disease control – investigation of cases of infectious disease, through to epidemic management; including contact tracing, source investigation and prevention
  • Housing habitability and workplace suitability appraisal
  • Environmental Impact Report Assessment
  • A diverse range of Project Management activities
  • Consultancy with the World Health Organisation
  • Presentations at National and International forums and conferences.
  • As an experienced Environmental Health Professional, he brings a holistic view to any project.
