Jim Bowler

Jim is one of Buildsure Associates Directors Trained and qualified as a Building/Quantity Surveyor and moved progressively onto managing construction projects. Working on both civil engineering as well as building projects in England, Papua New Guinea, Western Samoa.

Christian holds a Masters in Construction Management (Hons). As a ‘Site’ LBP, Christian is well qualified to oversee the construction of all buildings within New Zealand. Christian complements his management ability with practical experience and is often found with a builders apron on when not in the office.
Christians areas of specialty include protective security in the built environment, building and public space hardening, residential quality control and long term maintenance planning. Outside of construction consultancy, Christian is also a Regular Force New Zealand Army Officer.

A senior lecturer for 6 years at Massey University lecturing in construction related subjects and undertaking a longitudinal research project on asbestos.Contracted by Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority (EECA) to undertake an independent review of Warm Up New Zealand: Heat Smart auditing regime.Engaged by Brandons Lawyers, Oakley Moran and Ford Sumner providing advice and aiding resolution to construction related matters.

Graduate member of the Building Surveyors Institute (United Kingdom) Fellow of the New Zealand Institute of Building.

Johan Ehmke

Johan originally studied civil engineering, and later qualified as an architectural designer in South Africa, where he managed a design and construction company for more than 20 years.

Steve Bell

Steve has over 40 years’ experience in Environmental Health and is a Fellow of the New Zealand Institute of Environmental Health. In addition to his Post Graduate Diploma in Science, he holds a New Zealand Certificate in Building and is a qualified Tertiary Teacher.

Johan served in the management of a wildlife reserve development, chaired the aesthetical committees of 2 township developments, undertook various other residential and commercial property developments, and involved himself in the design and construction of mainly upper end residences throughout Africa. His most recent involvements are the designing and management of townhouse developments in Wellington, and he loves taking on single residential projects.

During his extensive career he has been a regulator; academic; policy developer and implementer, both in New Zealand and the UK. Steve’s experience includes:

Education and Training – needs analysis, curriculum design, development and delivery.
Food Safety – knowledge of food safety programmes; training; legislative and policy development and implementation
Civil Defence and Emergency Management – Undertaken and delivered emergency management training and has extensive practical experience in a number of national and regional emergencies
Communicable disease control – investigation of cases of infectious disease, through to epidemic management; including contact tracing, source investigation and prevention
Housing habitability and workplace suitability appraisal
Environmental Impact Report Assessment
A diverse range of Project Management activities
Consultancy with the World Health Organisation
Presentations at National and International forums and conferences.
As an experienced Environmental Health Professional, he brings a holistic view to any project.

David Rangiihu

David is a highly experienced site manager whose varied background includes both the construction of national award winning homes in Christchurch and commercial building for the United States in Antarctica.

Mike is a qualified carpenter and licensed building practitioner with a decade of prior experience in the mechanical engineering field.

A qualified carpenter by trade, David is licensed to oversee and sign off restricted building work in his capacity as an LBP. David regularly assists with technical inspection and quality control for clients.
